Num13:1 The Lord said to Moses,
耶和华晓谕摩西说，
Num13:2 'Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders.'
你打发人去窥探我所赐给以色列人的迦南地，他们每支派中要打发一个人，都要作首领的。
Num13:3 So at the Lord 's command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites.
摩西就照耶和华的吩咐从巴兰的旷野打发他们去。他们都是以色列人的族长。
Num13:4 These are their names: from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur;
他们的名字，属流便支派的有撒刻的的儿子沙母亚。
Num13:5 from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori;
属西缅支派的有何利的儿子的沙法。
Num13:6 from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
属犹大支派的有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒。
Num13:7 from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;
属以萨迦支派的有约色的儿子以迦。
Num13:8 from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun;
属以法莲支派的有嫩的儿子何希阿。
Num13:9 from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;
属便雅悯支派的有拉孚的儿子帕提。
Num13:10 from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;
属西布伦支派的有梭底的儿子迦叠。
Num13:11 from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph), Gaddi son of Susi;
约瑟的子孙，属玛拿西支派的有稣西的儿子迦底。
Num13:12 from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;
属但支派的有基玛利的儿子亚米利。
Num13:13 from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;
属亚设支派的有米迦勒的儿子西帖。
Num13:14 from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;
属拿弗他利支派的有缚西的儿子拿比。
Num13:15 from the tribe of Gad, Geuel son of Maki.
属迦得支派的有玛基的儿子臼利。
Num13:16 These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. (Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.)
这就是摩西所打发，窥探那地之人的名字。摩西就称嫩的儿子何西阿为约书亚。
Num13:17 When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, 'Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country.
摩西打发他们去窥探迦南地，说，你们从南地上山地去，
Num13:18 See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many.
看那地如何，其中所住的民是强是弱，是多是少，
Num13:19 What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified?
所住之地是好是歹，所住之处是营盘是坚城。
Num13:20 How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees on it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land.' (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)
又看那地土是肥美是瘠薄，其中有树木没有。你们要放开胆量，把那地的果子带些来。（那时正是葡萄初熟的时候。）
Num13:21 So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath.
他们上去窥探那地，从寻的旷野到利合，直到哈马口。
Num13:22 They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
他们从南地上去，到了希伯仑。在那里有亚衲族人亚希幔，示筛，挞买。（原来希伯仑城被建造比埃及的锁安城早七年。）
Num13:23 When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs.
他们到了以实各谷，从那里砍了葡萄树的一枝，上头有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着，又带了些石榴和无花果来。
Num13:24 That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there.
（因为以色列人从那里砍来的那挂葡萄，所以那地方叫作以实各谷。）
